The word Haraam.

salamseeker:

People use it so flippantly.
People use it for jokes.
People use it to describe their blogs.

People say “haraam” like it’s something funny, outrageous, awesome.
People say “haraam” in reference to themselves to make fun of others who try and give them religious advice.
People look at impermissible things and say “That’s so haraam”- and just laugh about it.

What is wrong with you?
Something that is Haraam is something that your Creator has forbidden for you.
Something that is punishable if committed.
Something that if done enough can lead you to suffer eternally in the Hereafter.

It’s not a laughing matter.
But just look around and see all of the people that don’t seem to grasp the severity  of the word.
Haraam acts are punishable.
Haraam are forbidden by the one who owns your soul.

Where is the fear of your Creator?

Too bad for them. If you’re going to convert to a religion for the people, you’re doing it wrong. A person should be drawn to Islam because of tawheed and nothing else. And if you’re going to stop going to jum’uah because of the people then how is that not shirk? I mean, what were you wanting from jum’uah? A chance to serve your Lord and have your sins forgiven for a week or for a social circle? Who cares if the Muslims don’t treat you well. This isn’t about the Muslims! This is about SERVING ALLAH. I really terribly feel sorry for people like this. You’re going to let some Muslims destroy your relationship with Allah and cause you to forsake your obligation to attend jum’uah prayer? That’s weak.
When I reverted to Islam, I was a part of a really crumby Muslim community. There were barely any women my age and the women who were there were rude and cliquey. Did this stop me from going to jum’uah prayer even though all of the other people there treated jum’uah prayer like a joke and gossiped and checked their cell phones? NO. I was there to learn something and worship Allah. If I were to depend on other Muslims to keep me in the deen, I would have left it a long time ago.
Don’t ever bother with letting Muslims shape your view of Islam. Study the religion itself and grow deeper in faith.

Okay, there’s been some disagreement on homosexuality being haraam in Islam. So let me clarify:

“Of all the creatures in the world will ye approach males”. “And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!”
– Quran 26:165-166

“Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!
–  Quran, 27:55

Abd al-Rahman, the son of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, reported from his father:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:

A man should not see the private parts of another man, and a woman should not see the private parts of another woman, and a man should not lie with another man under one covering, and a woman should not lie with another woman under one covering.

(Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0667)

——

This is what the Quran says, this is what the Prophet says.
You cannot reject any part of Islam and still call yourself a Muslim.
It’s all or nothing.
Accept it, or don’t.

Khalas, this is the last I’m saying on the issue.

Reblogging an old but relevant post of mine.
Islam is clear on this issue.
Islam does not need changed and updated.
And we don’t need any “Modern Muslims” to make our religion more “Socially acceptable”.
Islam is perfect, it doesn’t need improved.

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
Surah al-Ahzab (33:36)

“O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.”

- (63:9)

I think this is a nice quote from the Quran to remember. Especially since many people nowadays are more concerned with trivial things, such as who said/did what, than with remembrance of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) We as Muslims need to remember that everything we do, even taking a breath, should be for Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) alone.

Check your sources

I know this has been said many times, but I keep coming across it. People posting nice, artsy pictures with fake hadith on them. Please, please check your sources before creating/liking/reblogging these pictures.

It could be a nice quote, but if it’s not authentic, then it’s no good.

“O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth.”

- (33:70)

No matter how nice this fake hadith sounds, always remember that real hadith are nicer.

Giving up on advising on tumblr. Just going to unfollow when..

zombiejihadi:

When people blatantly just do not care, there is no point in even trying. When it appears as thought countless of people have told them otherwise and they’re still saying, ‘la la la la la la I don’t care’, there is no point in even trying.

People reblog all of these nice quotes about “severing attachments” but when you remind them that such and such thing is haram, suddenly these attachments mean everything to them and you are part of the “haram police”.

There is no such thing as the haram police. All there is are people so damn concerned about you that they took the time to message you about it, however politely or rudely they went about it. All there is are Muslims holding firmly to wanting for their brothers and sisters what they want for themselves. You want Jannah? So do they. So naturally they’re going to attempt to advise you about something that is incorrect. They may do it nicely off anon, they may even be nice on anon, they may be a total jackass about it- anon or not. But they took the time to say it. You know what they meant. You’re just too caught up in what all of the rude ones have said.

I think some of these people think that if they take someones advice that they will be doing it for them. No. They’re telling you for the sake of Allah. And you’re going to be following that advice for the sake of Allah, not so they shut up.

Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.

Well, my mom went postal at me and yelled to my dad that I was Muslim (even though I told her that that time I said I was Muslim wasn’t serious - so I could still live at the house) and now I have to find a place to live in the next few weeks. If I trust Allah and stay calm things will be fine.

I really don’t care where I live - New England, the south, the west, whatever - as long as it’s affordable! I’ve been saving my money from my job and I could live on my own for a few months (maybe 2-3) but I’m just worried about getting a new job and supporting myself. Apartments in the area that I live are too expensive and I don’t make enough at my job and I don’t have a car, so most likely I will have to quit my current job.

I’ve never lived alone before or needed to depend solely on myself. Can anyone give me even a little advice?

I truly don’t get why anyone would add innovations into our religion. Is what Allah said not enough that we must add things? Astagfirullah. Who knows better than Allah?
